Cleaver pressed against Taxi Driver Neck
SINGAPORE – A taxi driver who rotated to ask for the cab fare abruptly felt and noticed a cleaver pressed towards his neck. The cleaver was held by his passenger.
Mr Pang Tee Ann, sixty three, had picked up the passenger from Geylang Lorong 15 at round 4am on Wednesday, reported Shin Min Daily News.
He stopped his taxi at Eunos MRT Station to let the passenger off.
“When I stopped the meter and rotated to ask for the cab fare, I was shocked to discover a cleaver towards my neck,” stated Mr Pang, who was shaking in worry when the passenger advised him to not make any sudden actions.
He informed Shin Min that the passenger stated: “I simply need cash, I do not need to harm you. I haven’t any selection.”
So he took out round $50 and handed it to the person. But the person informed him that it was not sufficient and requested for extra.
Mr Pang felt the cleaver pressed much more firmly towards his neck.
He was nervous that the person would harm him, so he opened his pockets and gave the person all the cash he had, round $280.
“He took the cash, acquired out of the taxi and walked casually in the direction of the MRT.
“I locked the taxi doorways and when he was a distance away, I referred to as the police,” stated Mr Pang.
It was solely after the police arrived that Mr Pang came upon that one other taxi driver had been robbed of $14, at 11pm the day earlier than.
Mr Pang described his attacker as a tall, truthful man in his 40s sporting a black shirt.
He stated the police advised him the attacker’s description was just like the person within the earlier incident.
