Five men charged with rioting on the first day of Chinese New Year
SINGAPORE – Five pals won’t be spending the subsequent one week celebrating Chinese New Year with their households.
This after they have been arrested for rioting on Friday and ordered to be remanded at Clementi Police Division till subsequent Thursday to help in additional investigations.
Eugene Leong Yao Jun and Joshua Low Xiao Zhong, each 20; Nigel Koh Jia Sheng, 21; and Ong Choon Hong and Justine Soh, each 23; have been charged in a district courtroom on Saturday with being members of an illegal meeting, which had allegedly attacked Mr Abdul Hamid Ahmad at Sentosa Gateway close to Harbour Front.
The police prosecutor advised the courtroom that the forty seven-yr-previous sufferer is now unconscious in hospital. If convicted of rioting, every could possibly be jailed for as much as seven years and caned.
