16 students mistakenly received acceptance letters from Republic Polytechnic

Republic Polytechnic (RP) have mistakenly sent out acceptance letters to 16 students. The school have withdrawn the letters and apologised for the mistake.

1 of the affected student share that she was shocked to receive the letter of acceptance. However, when she attended school for the 1st day, the school told her that according to her results, she did not qualify for the course and was therefore withdrawn.

The school have made their apology to the affected student and also work together and secured her a place in the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).

RP added that this is not the only case as they discover some discrepancies of the results that were submitted by 15 other students. After confirmation, the school rescinded their places to ensure fairness to other applicants.

9 students have managed to confirm a placement at another institution while 7 of them are still pending acceptance or retaking their O-Levels.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused to the students, and we will improve our processes to ensure that similar errors would not recur.”

The school also said it would refund the enrolment fees paid by the affected students.
