On 28 March, an ex-prisoner with a criminal record of breaking and entering, Rasidin Mohd Yusof, was caught entering a house to shower.

As he came to the victim’s unlocked house, he tilted the CCTV camera up so that it wouldn’t catch his face. The victim’s in-house CCTV camera was also tampered with.

The victim was out having dinner with her daughter, during the time of the incident. When they returned, they were greeted by the toilet lights that was switched on which sparked their curiosity.

Rasidin popped his head out of the toilet and looked at them. He had just completed his shower and was using the victim’s daughter’s pants as a towel to dry his hair. The victim began questioning him, demanding to know why he was there. Rasidin, who was panicking, repeatedly said ‘no’ before running away from the place.

The victim called the police, reporting that her CCTV cameras have been tampered with. However, none of her belongings were missing and she managed to snatch back her daughter’s pants from him before he fled.

Rasidin, who is on remission from his previous crime, will be serving the remaining term of his remission in jail due to this. For his crime, he can be jailed for up to three years, fined, or both.
