Lately, Singaporean girlfriend have been taking it to social media to express their dissatisfaction with their boyfriends. After the incident with the girlfriend who scolded her boyfriend for sending desserts, an anonymous confession via ‘NUSWhispers’ on Facebook expressed that she wished her boyfriend was doing more.
Her post expressed that her boyfriend had recently bought a Louis Vuitton (LV) wallet for her birthday. She is unhappy as it only costs around $700, as compared to her sister’s boyfriend who gift her a $1,000 Chanel wallet. She prefers Chanel as she claims that it is “much nicer” and that LV is a brand for the poor who “want to look rich”.
To add on, she compares the treatment that she and her sister have been getting. Her sister always received food from popular and “atas” restaurants like Crystal Jade and Paradise Dynasty. The anon, on the other hand, only received food from Swensen’s and Ichiban. She also compared both their boyfriends’ salary and apparently her boyfriend earns more. She calls him “stingy” for only giving her $500 per month, as compared to her sister who receives $1,000 per month. She feels that her boyfriend is not a good one, as compared to her sister’s and feels like “a loser”.
Facebook users have responded by saying that her boyfriend deserves better, and that she is just a self-entitled girlfriend who should earn her own money instead.
