Man frames neighbour by speeding with identical car plate
A 27 years old man, Mr Hong was sentenced to 2 months in jail for framing his neighbor. The accused made a car plate identical to his neighbor, attached it to a BMW that he rented and went speeding on the road.
His driving license was also suspended for 12 months. The man sped at a speed of 116kmh at a road with a 70kmh limit. He was caught speeding on a traffic camera footage, and his neighbor, Ms Chen subsequently received a summons for speeding.
Ms Chen who was homed at the time of the incident, therefore, filed an appeal.
The police tracked down Hong after a series of investigations at a car rental company, and Hong admitted that he had framed his neighbour.
Both parties were involved in a collision in 2017, but the matter was resolved privately without informing the traffic police. Investigations revealed that Hong had once refused to give Ms Chen a lift and the relationship between the two has since worsened.
They subsequently had another argument, which led to him tailgating her car and causing an accident. Bearing grudges, he purposely created the scene and sped up in front of traffic cameras to get his revenge.
