Maserati Driver Speed Off When Stopped by Police Got Banned for Life
A 36-year-old man who owns a Maserati was sentenced to a life ban of driving on 28 July. Lee Chen Yan has a long history of past offences on the road. In the most recent incident, he was pulled over by a police officer as he was caught not wearing his seatbelt.
As he was on a temporary driving ban at that point of time, he decided to make a run for it. As the police officer was chasing him, his uniform got caught on the car’s door and Chen Yan chose to drag him for more than 100m. The officer eventually fall off and suffered injuries to his knee, neck and back.
During Chen Yan’s sentencing dates, he failed to turn up three times and obtained a medical certificate instead. On 28 July, Chen Yan receive a life ban from driving, $3,700 fine and having to serve four year and seven months in prison. He intends to appeal against his conviction and sentencing.
