Scoot’s Stewardess ‘Throws’ Singapore Passport Away
With the circuit breaker being taken into place, Singaporeans have found themselves to hop on online trends – with the latest one being the ‘Don’t Rush Challenge’.
A trend that took off from the Tik Tok, where a group of people appear in their home outfits before reappearing all dressed up. As a form of transition, he/she will pass or throw an item, usually a brush, to the next participant.
As there are no ongoing flights currently, a group of cabin crews have made their own version of ‘Don’t Rush Challenge’. However, their version resulted in an uproar among Singaporeans.
One of the flight attendants was holding two passports – a Singapore and Malaysia one, and proceeded to throw away the Singapore passport. Her action was deemed as unacceptable by the society which invited a series of angry comments from viewers. A lot of angry audience find that disrespectful to the Singapore citizenship and the passport.
They proceeded to involve Scoot in this matter, and Scoot has responded that the video was not trimmed properly. The flight attendant’s intention was to ‘pass’ the passport to the next participant for their video transition; however, it was seen as throwing the Singapore passport away.
Coming from the Scoot and their staff, they urge the public to not assume if they’re not aware of the context.
