With Singaporeans being granted limited movement during the circuit breaker period, many decided to send food and other treats to their friends and family as a form of sweet gesture. This act is especially common among couples who are unable to see each other during this period.

A boyfriend in Singapore decided to send his girlfriend a cake and yoghurt but his efforts were not appreciated. Instead, he got scolded for getting overpriced desserts without her being able to enjoy any service from the restaurant. She also mentions that she hates “sweet food” and that she feels insulted when her boyfriend sends them over as it shows that he hasn’t been listening to her.

As she posted the screenshots of her conversation with her boyfriend on Instagram Stories, her boyfriend seems to be apologizing for his mistake. The girlfriend proceeds to say that if someone is unsure, they can just give cash to her. This is followed up by a screenshot of someone sending her $50 through PayNow.
